About Our School

Cando Community School is a Kindergarten to Grade 12 School in the Living Sky School Division #202, right in the town of Cando, Saskatchewan. Our students come from around the Cando area and the Mosquito Grizzly Bear Lean Man & Red Pheasant First Nations.

Go Cougars!

“Rooted in our cultures. Growing with pride. Learning without limits.”

Core Beliefs

We will set high expectations for every student; provide the support they need to succeed and celebrate their growth.

We will embed the Indigenous knowledge and ways of learning in our teaching with guidance from Elders and Knowledge Keepers.

We will build safe, welcoming spaces where every student, including 2SLGBTQ+ feels valued and represented.

We will model respect for students, colleagues families and the land.

We will strengthen relationships and engage with families, elders and community organizations.

We will model courage by acknowledging mistakes, learning from them and moving forward with humility.

Vision Statement

100% of our students will demonstrate yearly growth in their Indigenous learning and academic growth. We want ALL students to be confident and culturally grounded individuals who are prepared to lead and thrive in both their communities and the wider world.

Living Sky School Division acknowledges our place on Treaty 6 Territory, traditional lands of the Nêhiyawak, Nakawe, Dene, Lakota, Nakota, Dakota, and Métis people. We honour the spirit and intent of our sacred treaty relationship, and take action for reconciliation by teaching our shared history and learning from the land and each other.
